Handgun Storage Rack
I ordered a few of these SnapSafe 6 Gun Pistol Racks when I came to the realization that the way I was storing my guns was actually encouraging RUST!
In the past I always thought a nice padded pistol rug was a great way to protect the finish on a handgun. Well, it does and it doesn’t. When transporting a handgun a pistol rug is nicely protective.
Over the Summer, however, in a humid environment that same protective pistol case can simply trap moisture in with the gun and lead to rust. I found that out the hard way with a Sig Sauer that was already suffering a worn finish.
Another disadvantage to storing all of your pistols in a gun rug is that, if you have several pistols, you always have to open every rug to find the pistol you are looking for! (It’s never in the first on you check…)
Space Saving Pistol Rack
If you are storing multiple pistols in a gun safe shelf or even a shelf in a locked closet or something similar (maybe a walk-in safe???) then having them resting in a multi-pistol rack like the SnapSafe 6 gun pistol rack shown above can be a nice space saver that protects the guns as well.
As you can see in the photo above (and video below), the pistols are upside down in the rack.
Semi-Autos are absolutely no problem fitting in.
The larger cylinder revolvers that I tested (S&W Governor, 627 – 8 shot .357) do rub when being inserted or removed from the pistol rack straight up/down. Instead, lift and slide in/out to the front and they fit nicely.
If you want one or more of these SnapSafe pistol racks, Amazon has them (currently) either singly or a THREE pack; buying three is the same cost as buying 2 and getting the 3rd for just $1. I took the three pack since I was looking for 2 anyway.
