Shooting At A Bad Guy Is Different Than Paper
As the creator of the IFR 4X Pistol Shooting Accurizer Systemâ„¢, I have a high regard for learning the proper FUNDAMENTALS of pistol shooting.
Yet I also fully realize that shooting at paper targets that don’t shoot back can leave you ill equipped for a real gunfight (that I hope & pray you never encounter!).
That’s why I often evaluate shooting programs from actual military vets like Green Berets, Navy Seals and IDF trained soldiers with real combat experience.
I’m a firm believer in investing in yourself!
A body pumping with adrenaline is just not the same as a sunny, fun day at the range with your buddies…
Brian Morris, Green Beret
From what I can tell, Brian Morris is the real deal. Though I don’t know him personally, it seems that he genuinely wants to make better shooters out of every-day folks like you and me; and the topics he covers in his training are perfect for the violence that is on the rise in cities (and even rural areas) across America.
I’ll be honest, some of the shooting tips he discusses made me cringe a little bit at first, yet it all boils down to how it helps the accuracy of the shooter implementing the tip.
That was one of the criticisms we had to endure way back in the day when our Tae Kwon Do class was breaking boards and one buddy of ours from a competing martial arts academy would wryly suggest: “you’ll be well prepared if you ever get attacked by a lumber yard”.
Sadly, I knew there was some truth in what he said…
It’s tough to prepare for that day when you are in the middle of:
- Home invasion
- Workplace shooting
- Venue or club attack
Though I believe we should seek out alternate training methods that have a chance to fill in some of the gaps in our current learning and training.
Focusing on the Front Sight
We are all taught to focus on the front sight of the pistol, and I have videos where I have reviewed after market sights for those of us with “aged” eyes that have a challenge doing that.
But what about when the adrenaline kicks it?
It’s going to be even tougher to not just focus your thinking but also your eyesight.
Brian Morris helps with that in his free introductory video you can find here.
Granted, that’s just the tip of the iceberg in what he hopes to be able to teach you.
Learning Abroad
Someone like Master Sergeant Morris who has been around the globe with the Green Berets has had the opportunity to glean shooting tips from experts of other elite military organizations besides just our own. I think that’s valuable.
I was fortunate enough to have access to a training video for some Israeli special security forces once upon a time and I have to say that to this day I have never seen anything else remotely like it… and those guys were GOOD!
Bottom line is that if you care about having the very best access to a variety of training with a background in actual combat techniques from a guy who excels at both pistol AND rifle marksmanship, then take a look at the Spec Ops Shooting system free video now.
